The BikeSpike from Bike Spike on Vimeo.
Awhile back I met Clay Neigher and Josh Billions at a coffee shop to discuss a product that helps recover stolen bicycles. As a victim of bike theft myself, I was immediately engaged at solving this problem. On March 11th we launched our crowd funding campaign for the BikeSpike. The BikeSpike is a tracking solution that protects your bike and broadcasts your ride. It is a GPS and cellular enabled device installed on your bicycle that makes it easier to recover a stolen the bike. It has a built in accelerometer and a crash detection algorithm that will notify loved ones and give them your location in the event of an accident. Controlled from your smart phone or computer, you can share your ride, stats, and courses over social media. With its open API, we allow developers to invent their own apps and use the device however they please. Coaches and spectators can monitor athletes’ performance, speed, and distance during the race on their smart phones. Please take a look at our Kickstarter page, be a part of our global cycling community, and protect your ride. Spike your Bike!
